If you've been looking at the Accelerator and wondering whether it's right for you, this series is for you.
Over the next eleven articles, I'm going to take you inside the program — not the sales page version, but the real version. What you actually do each week. What you build. What you walk away with. And why the sequence matters as much as the content.
Because here's the thing most people miss when they look at the Accelerator from the outside. They see the number of courses. They see the weeks. They see the coaching sessions. And they still don't really understand what they're walking into — or what they'll walk out with.
So let me show you. Stage by stage. Week by week.
Why Most Licensing Attempts Fail Before They Start
I've spent 35+ years in IP licensing. I've worked on entertainment deals, consumer products, medical devices, technology patents, and brand licensing campaigns across industries and markets.
And the number one thing I see when an IP owner comes to me after months — sometimes years — of trying to license on their own is this: they skipped the foundation and went straight to outreach.
They had an idea of what they wanted to do. They made a list of companies. They sent some emails. Maybe they got a meeting. Maybe they didn't. Either way, nothing moved.
It's not because their IP wasn't valuable. In most cases it was.
It's because they were running a pitch when they needed to be running a campaign. And a campaign has a structure. It has stages. Each stage produces something that feeds the next. Skip a stage and the whole thing collapses — usually right when you think you're getting somewhere.
The Licensing Launchpad Accelerator is built around that structure. Three stages. Eight weeks. A working licensing campaign — and your first licensing partner — on the other side.
Let me walk you through exactly what happens.
Stage 1 — Organize (Weeks 1 and 2)
Before you approach a single company, you need two things: a complete picture of what you own and a clear plan for how you're going to license it.
That sounds obvious. It almost never is.
Most IP owners have a general sense of their IP. They know what they filed. They know what they built. But they haven't organized it the way a licensing deal requires — documented, commercially positioned, and clear enough that any prospect can immediately see what they're getting and why it matters to their business.
Stage 1 fixes that. It's four courses across two weeks, and by the end of it you have the foundation that everything else is built on.
How to Identify and Organize Your IP Assets
The first course is where the foundation begins — and it starts by making sure you actually know what you have.
Not in the general sense. In the specific, documented, commercially organized sense that a licensing campaign requires. Every asset you own. What it covers. Where it applies. When the protections expire. And critically — what a company gains by licensing it from you.
Most IP owners discover things at this stage they weren't expecting. Assets they'd overlooked. Applications they hadn't considered. Gaps they need to close before they approach anyone. This course surfaces all of it before it becomes a problem in a real conversation.

How to Create a Licensable IP
Knowing what you have is one thing. Knowing what it's worth — commercially, to the companies you want to license it to — is another.
This course is where you build that picture. You map the commercial value your IP delivers across the markets it applies to. You identify which industries, segments, and types of companies have the most to gain from what you own. And you develop the positioning language that makes that value immediately visible to a decision-maker who has never heard of you.
I've worked with clients who came in focused on one market and left this stage with three or four they hadn't considered — not because their IP changed, but because looking at it systematically from the outside revealed opportunities they were too close to their own work to see.

Licensing Strategies to Maximize IP Income
Once you know what you have and what it's worth, the question is: what's the right way to bring it to market?
There are six distinct licensing strategies — and most IP owners default to the most obvious one without knowing the others exist. Direct licensing. Exclusive licensing. Non-exclusive licensing. Sublicensing. Cross-licensing. Joint venture licensing. Each one fits a different type of IP, a different market situation, and a different set of goals.
This course lays all six out clearly and walks you through a decision framework for choosing the one that fits your IP, your market, and what you're trying to accomplish. Because the strategy you choose here shapes everything that comes next — your prospect list, your deal structure, your outreach, your negotiation position. Getting it right at this stage saves you from rebuilding later.

Creating an Effective Licensing Action Plan
Strategy tells you how you're going to license. The action plan tells you exactly what you're going to do and in what order.
This is a six-step framework that takes your strategy and turns it into a specific, sequenced plan — with a defined objective, mapped risk factors, a campaign timeline, a target partner profile, your deal parameters, and a decision framework for every scenario the campaign is likely to generate.
By the end of this course, you're not working from intention. You're working from a plan.

The Stage 1 Coaching Session
After you complete all four Stage 1 courses, you have your first one-on-one coaching session with me.
This is a working session, not a check-in. We go through everything you've built — your IP inventory, your value positioning, your strategy choice, your action plan — and we review it together. We identify what's solid, what needs to be adjusted, and what's still missing. We make sure the foundation is complete before you build anything on top of it.
Because everything in Stage 2 depends on what you've established here. If the foundation is shaky, the campaign reflects it. By the time this session ends, it isn't shaky.
Stage 2 — Build (Weeks 3 Through 6)
Stage 2 is where the campaign gets built. Over four weeks you develop the skills, the materials, and the outreach strategy that take your foundation and turn it into a campaign ready to run.
Four courses. Two coaching sessions. And by the end of it, everything you need to find the right partners, negotiate the right deals, present your IP effectively, and promote your licensing opportunity across the channels where decision-makers are paying attention.
6 Sources for Finding Licensing Partners
The first course in Stage 2 answers the question that stops most IP owners in their tracks: where do I actually find the companies that are most likely to license my IP?
The answer isn't a Google search or an industry directory. It's six specific insider resources — patent databases, trade associations, licensing-specific platforms, corporate open innovation programs, business and financial news, and your existing network — each one surfacing a different layer of the licensing market.
Used together they build a prospect list that is specific, qualified, and full of companies that have genuine commercial reasons to be interested in what you own. Not the most obvious targets. The right ones.

Winning Negotiation Strategies for Licensing Deals
Most IP owners think negotiation happens at the end of a licensing process. The ones who close the best deals understand that negotiation preparation starts before the first conversation.
This course builds your complete negotiation framework — before you approach anyone. You learn what's actually on the table in a licensing deal, how to set your position on every key element before you're under pressure to decide, how to read what the other side is telling you through their questions and objections, and how to handle the moments that knock most IP owners off balance.
You go into every conversation knowing what a good deal looks like for you — and what a bad one looks like before you've committed to it.

Presentation Secrets for Licensing Success
Knowing your IP is one thing. Presenting it in a way that moves a business decision-maker from interested to ready to deal is a skill — and one that almost no IP owner develops before they need it.
This course covers the full presentation framework for a licensing conversation. How to open with the market opportunity rather than the technology. How to build the commercial case layer by layer. How to handle interruptions, hard questions, and pushback without losing the thread. And how to close a presentation in a way that defines a clear next step rather than leaving the outcome ambiguous.
Every element is built around one principle: a licensing decision-maker isn't asking how your IP works. They're asking what it does for their business. This course teaches you to answer that question from the moment you open your mouth.

The Stage 2 Mid-Point Coaching Session
After the finding partners, negotiation, and presentation courses, you have your second one-on-one coaching session.
At this point you have your prospect list built and your skills developed. This session reviews both — your prospect targeting, your negotiation framework, and your presentation approach — and makes sure everything is calibrated correctly before you build the marketing campaign in Week 6.
Marketing Strategies to Promote Your Licensing Opportunities
The final course in Stage 2 is where everything comes together into a campaign that runs.
Not a single outreach email. A multi-channel marketing strategy that keeps your licensing opportunity visible to the right companies consistently over time — through targeted digital outreach, industry content that builds your authority, trade media and events, your network and referral channels, and a simple professional online presence that supports every conversation your campaign generates.
Every element is built around the commercial value your IP delivers to the markets you're targeting. Not features. Not technology descriptions. The specific value — what your IP does for companies in those markets, how it solves problems they're dealing with, how it lets them compete more effectively. That's the message that travels. That's what gets read, shared, and remembered.

The Stage 2 Closing Coaching Session
After the marketing strategies course, you have your third one-on-one coaching session — the pre-Stage 3 review.
We go through your complete marketing strategy together. We look at every channel, every piece of outreach, every element of your prospect targeting. We tighten what needs tightening. We fill in what's missing. And we make sure the full campaign is solid before Stage 3 begins.
This is the session that closes the build phase and opens the door to launch.
Stage 3 — Launch (Weeks 7 and 8)
Stage 3 is where the campaign goes fully live. Two courses. Two weeks. And the fourth coaching session right before the outreach goes out.
How to Use LinkedIn to Find Licensing Partners
LinkedIn is one of the most powerful and underused tools available to any IP owner running a licensing campaign — and Week 7 is dedicated entirely to using it the right way.
Not LinkedIn for networking in the general sense. LinkedIn as a precision prospecting tool that puts you directly in front of the decision-makers at the companies most likely to license your IP — business development directors, VP of product, directors of licensing and IP strategy — in a context that builds credibility before you ever ask for a conversation.
The course covers how to position your profile for licensing outreach, how to use LinkedIn's search capabilities to find exactly the right people at exactly the right companies, how to write messages that open real conversations, how to build a content presence that generates inbound interest from your target market, and how to engage with the communities where the decision-makers you need to reach are already gathering.

Landing Your First Licensing Partner
Week 8 is the closing course — and the most important one in the program.
This is where you learn how to read where a deal actually stands, how to move a motivated prospect toward a decision without losing the momentum you've built, how to handle the final objections that come up when a deal is close, and how to close toward a Deal Memo that captures the key terms both sides have agreed to before the formal agreement is drafted.
Every skill in this course is designed to take a campaign that has been building for seven weeks and convert it into a signed licensing partner.

The Pre-Launch Coaching Session
Before the outreach goes out — before any of your campaign goes in front of a real prospect — you have your fourth and final pre-launch coaching session with me.
This is the end-to-end review. We go through your prospect list, your outreach sequence, your presentation materials, your negotiation framework, and your deal parameters one final time. We close any remaining gaps. We confirm that every piece of the campaign is ready.
Because once the outreach is live, your attention needs to be on the conversations in front of you — not fixing the foundation behind you. This session makes sure the foundation is done.
When it ends, the campaign goes live.
Week 9 — Post-Launch and the Bonus Courses
Week 9 is post-launch week. The outreach is out. The LinkedIn campaign is running. The conversations are opening. And two bonus courses unlock — timed specifically for the deal work that's now in front of you.
The 3 Essential Licensing Documents gives you a clear understanding of the NDA, the Deal Memo, and the licensing agreement — what each one does, what needs to be in it, and what to watch for when something comes back from the other side's attorneys.

How to Determine the Right Royalty Rate Formula gives you the framework to calculate, justify, and negotiate the royalty rate that reflects the true commercial value of your IP — grounded in methodology and market reality, not guesswork.

What You Walk Away With
A completed licensing campaign. The skills to present, negotiate, and close deals. A live outreach running across multiple channels. And the foundation for a licensing asset that keeps producing conversations and income long after the nine weeks are over.
Because that's what a licensing campaign built the right way becomes. Not a one-time effort. An asset. One that compounds over time as you close deals, build your track record, and add licensing partners to a growing portfolio.
What's Coming in This Series
Over the next eleven articles, I'm going to go deep inside each stage — one course at a time.
You'll see exactly what you build in Stage 1 and why the foundation determines everything that follows. You'll understand what the six licensing strategies are and how to choose the right one. You'll see how a qualified prospect list gets built, how a negotiation framework gets set before the first conversation, and how a marketing campaign gets built around the commercial value your IP delivers — not what it is, but what it does for the companies that need it.
And you'll follow the campaign all the way through — from a completed IP inventory to a signed first licensing partner.
By the time you finish this series, you'll know this program better than most people who have already enrolled.
